Don't Quit!

June 7, 2019

Whether you're a start-up, entrepreneur, inventor, wholesaler or small business owner, you've undoubtedly had your fair share of challenges. You may have also reached a point where you've asked yourself "what the heck was I thinking?" and "is this really worth it?". You've then most likely wondered if you should just throw in the towel...call it quits...and do something 'safer'.

Well, I'm here to tell you...don't do it! Don't give up on your dream! Who ever said 'safer' meant happier...or that it was a guarantee of 'easier'??? The grass is always greener on the other side...but more importantly, there is a reason you are where you are now, doing exactly what you are doing.

When times are the hardest, your self-doubt is at its highest and your self-esteem at its lowest...remember the reason(s) why you started your business in the first place, or what lead you to develop your new product. Focus on your mission and your passion for doing whatever it is you do in those times. Rely on your support network (spouse, partner, family, close friends) to remind you of the force you are and that you've got this! But above all else...

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–

You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man,

Often the struggler has given up,

When he might have captured the victor’s cup,

And he learned too late when the night slipped down,

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far,

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.
